The Venice Biennial has for over a century been one of the most prestigious cultural institutions in the world. Ever since its foundation in 1895, it has been in the avant-garde, promoting new artistic trends and organizing international events in the contemporary arts in accordance with a multi-disciplinary model, which characterizes its unique nature.
The Architecture section of the Venice Biennial was established in 1980, although architecture had been a part of the art biennial since 1968. As well as addressing the academic side of architecture, the Biennial is an occasion where big-name architects and designers can showcase new projects, arranged in different pavilions, each with different themes.
Ibis-Novotel IKIA was selected by coordination committee of Iran Pavilion for presence of Iran’s contemporary architecture in 56th Episode of Venice Biennial 2015 and showcased in the event for 6 months. The committee appreciated Tarh Va Afarinesh Architectural & Engineering Consultants Co, the EPC contractor of project, and Ms. Shiva Aghababaei, architect and interior designer of project.
